Pierce, Florence Carr, formerly of Kenmore Court, loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, went home to be the Lord on June 6, 2012.

Born November 27, 1929, in Newport, she was a long time resident of Barrington. She was the wife of the late Alfred H. Pierce, Jr.

Florence was active in Barrington Baptist Church and the Covenant Church in Riverside. Most recently she resided in Canandaigua, NY.

Mrs. Pierce was a gentle, loving and kind Christian lady who will be missed. She is survived by her brother, Charles C. Brown (Nancy), of New Port Richey, FL ; daughters Candace A. Matthews (Doug) of Newark, NY; Rebecca S. Norman (Joe) of Spring Hill, TN; and Sarah P. Fisher (Rev. Rob) of Berkeley Springs, WV; and grandsons Jonathan and David Norman, and Rob and Coby Fisher.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Sunday, June 10, at 1:00, at Barrington Baptist Church, 7 Old County Road, Barrington, with visitation in the Fellowship Hall afterwards. Burial will be Monday, June 11, at 10:30 AM, at the RI Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
