Peterson, Janice M., 67, of The Landings On the Trail, Wampanoag Trail, East Providence, died peacefully on December 4, 2021 at Rhode Island Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Louis and Alice (Day) Lama, she lived in Riverside for the past 10 years.
Mrs. Peterson was an administrative assistant for the Old Dominion Freight Company, Cumberland for the past 30 years.
She is survived by two sons, Michael A. Peterson of North Providence and Derek J. Peterson of Warren; five grandchildren, Ciera R. Peterson, Isaac A. Peterson, Kaemon A. Peterson, Avery L. Peterson and Liana B. Peterson and a sister, Cynthia L. Lama of East Providence. She was the sister of the late Emma Ferreira.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Calling Hours on Thursday December 9, 2021 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside from 5-8 p.m. A private burial will be held in Forest Chapel Cemetery, Nayatt Road, Barrington. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Janice’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 would be deeply appreciated.
Mike and Derek I’m so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing ..She was a great woman , hard worker, mom and the best Grandma Ciera could have…she will be missed by many…RIP Janice.

I was saddened to hear of Jan’s passing. I worked with Jan at Old Dominion Freight Lines for many years. Going back when the terminal was in Seekonk. Jan was alway a pleasure to work with. My deepest sympathies to her family.
