Grant, Marjorie H. (Smith), “Honey”, 89, of Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence, died on September 30, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in East Providence, a daughter of the late William T. and Hattie B. (Boyd) Smith, she was a lifelong resident of East Providence.
Mrs. Grant was a graduate of East Providence High School Class of 1951 where she was a cheerleader.
Marjorie was a communicant of St. Brendan Church.
A sports enthusiast, she was a devoted Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and Providence College Basketball fan. She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her loving family.
She is survived by her children, Kevin M. Grant and his wife Lori of Warren, Kathleen L. Berg and her husband Carl of Riverside, Theresa R. Murphy and her husband Dennis of Riverside, Kerry Anne Whalen and her husband Joseph of Riverside and Sharon M. Dillon and her husband Thomas of Riverside; twenty grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She was the mother of the late Marjorie D. Alden; a sister of the late William T. Smith Jr., Raymond F. Smith, Shirley I. Barr and Harriet E. Pearson and was the grandmother of the late Brandi L. Berg and Erin Alden. She was sister-cousin to the late Elsie Redman.
The Grant family would like to offer a special thank you to Hope Hospice & Palliative Care for their support and compassion.
Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday October 4, 2022 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willet Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Springvale Cemetery, East Providence. Calling hours are Monday 4-8 p.m.

Our deepest sympathy to all or Honey’s friends and wonderful family. Her children should be very proud for the loving care they gave her throughout her life! We are so sorry we were unable to attend her calling hours or funeral. Uncle Dan had a hip replacement last Friday, came home on Saturday then had to be taken to Mariam hospital by rescue on Monday with Afib. He’s had a rough week but think he’s improving and might come home today. Love and Prayers ????????????? Aunt Merry & Uncle Dan
