  15. Bob was a brilliant scout leader in the 1960’s when I was a scout with Troop 13 Rehoboth, MA. He, along with his brother Steve, Joe DeRoach, Andy Colpe and Lonnie Newman, had a major impact on my life and helped me earn Eagle Scout in 1972. Bob’s 62 years as a BSA Commissioner is exceptional on a national level.
He and the others above inspired me to stay with scouting and as an Executive Board Member of Narragansett Council, we all salute Bob for touching the lives and hearts of hundreds of youths and adult leaders.
He was always quick with a smile, having something nice to say. Candidly, we just loved him. Amen!

  16. so sorry for your loss. i have known bob for decades. he was a real wanna be stand up comic. he was a great story teller and among the honest auctioneers i knew. i have been to many of his auctions and i will miss him. he was one of the good guys.

  17. Bob, you were one of a kind! A perfectly uniformed mentor to so many of us in Scouting, your depth of knowledge was surpassed only by your wit. We would proudly state, “I’m Fricker trained.” I will miss your smile and laughter, and how you could talk me into taking on duties that I swore I wouldn’t. A walk with Bob could find you agreeing to assume new responsibilities, but you knew he’d be there to guide you. With much love until we meet again, my friend.
