Bob Bellamy, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, January 11, 2024. He was the devoted husband of Virginia Lee (Fiedler) Bellamy to whom he was married for an incredible 68 years.
Bob was the son of the late Frank Robert Bellamy Sr. and Germain C. (Richards) Bellamy. He was predeceased by his sister, Pyllis Gleadow, and brother, Richard Bellamy. He is survived by his brother, Gerald Bellamy.
Born on May 2, 1934, in Riverside, Rhode Island, Bob was a lifelong East Providence native. He worked as a Machinist Mechanic for Metals Processing and Patriot Metals Company for 40 years before retiring at the age of 62. He enjoyed being outdoors; his favorite hobbies included boating, fishing, quahogging, hunting, and gardening. He also loved making furniture and repairing small engines and appliances. Above all else, Bob loved his large family, which was the most important aspect of his life. He was a family man who took immense pride in his four children, eleven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife and brother, Bob leaves his children: Debra Lee Bellamy; Robert Scott Bellamy (his wife Maura); James Frank Bellamy (his wife Maureen); and Joseph Michael Bellamy (his wife Debi). He leaves his grandchildren: Steve Silva (his wife Katelyn); Jamie Silva (his wife Theresa); Robert Bellamy Jr, (his wife Ayla); Kacey Bellamy (her wife Melissa); Corey Bellamy (his wife Kayleigh); Lindsey Whitaker (her husband Christopher); Meagan Bellamy (her husband Eric); Owen Bellamy (his fiancée Paige); Grace Bellamy; Ryan Bellamy (his wife Amanda); and Kaitlyn Bellamy. He will also be missed by his great-grandchildren: Adriana Silva; Ava, Isla, Ronan, Maeve and Teagan Silva; Kane and Rose Bellamy; Barrett Bellamy; and Hazel and Lainey Whitaker.
His funeral service will be held on Thursday January 18, 2024 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Forest Chapel Cemetery, Nayatt Road, Barrington.
Calling hours are Wednesday 4-7 p.m.
