Auntie Brenda was my second mother. Privately, we shared that I was really meant to be her daughter. She was a genuinely beautiful person, inside and out. She was one of the kindest, most loving, and truly good people you could ever have met. I spent weeks with her in the summer and I cherish the memories of staying up late to watch horror movies, running errands, and trips to play bingo. I learned a lot from her, and I will carry part of her in my heart forever. She was kinder to the world than it had been to her, and her legacy is one of unconditional love and immense strength. She will be greatly missed but I know she is with my grandmother, my second mother with her second mother. Love you Auntie, until we meet again xoxo.
So sorry to hear of Brendas passing. I always enjoyed getting together with her. When my Dad would be home for a visit we would meet up with cousin Brenda, usually for a meal. I liked listening to them reminisce. Brenda was also a friend to my Mom in years past. They went to Bingo together, along with Auntie Mary, many a time.
RIP Brenda
Love cousin Lisa
This is hard for me, being an only child my cousins are like my siblings. We spent many days together as children. In fact, Brenda and I lived together for a while as children. we would laugh and cry together. We would comfort each other in times of need. We would be there for support and empathy. As we grew older, we kept in touch. Even though we were separated by miles we felt connected. Our monthly chats would ease our being apart. I miss not being able to be there for family gatherings, but life’s vagaries sometimes lead us in different directions. Brenda will be in my thoughts now and forever, as will all my cousin/siblings, here and departed. love you always, your aka big brother.
Brenda was a true family treasure. So much life and love to give! The world is a sadder place without her in it, but heaven has gained an angel and her light will shine on in those she loved.
