Carmella I. (Quattrini) Ballard, 80, of Whelden Avenue, East Providence, died unexpectedly on August 18, 2024 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the former wife of Gene A. Ballard Sr. of Pawtucket.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Palomino and Clara (Gonsalves) Quattrini, she lived in East Providence for 60 years.

Mrs. Ballard was an Assembler in Jewelry Manufacturing for 32 years before retiring in 1999.

Carmella enjoyed playing bingo, shopping, dining out and spending holidays with her loving family.

She is survived by three children, Gene A. Ballard Jr. of East Providence, Agnes R. Ballard and her partner Ronald Andreozzi of Barrington and Kimberly A. Iannuccillo and her husband Gregory of Sarasota, FL; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Palomino Quattrini Jr., Kenneth Quattrini and Alvin Quattrini.

Her Funeral will be held on Thursday August 22, 2024 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 9:45 a.m. followed by Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Wampanoag Trail, East Providence.

Calling hours are Wednesday 5-8 p.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Carmella’s memory to the National Kidney Foundation, 209 West Central Street, Natick, MA, 01760 would be deeply appreciated.

  9. I am so sorry to hear of Carmella’s passing. I only met her once or twice but she was a kind and generous woman. It is so hard to lose you Mom, I miss mine everyday. I hope that all the loving memories keep some of the sadness away. Prayers and thoughts for the healing of the family are being sent your way.

  11. I may two mistakes when I put in my comments of how I felt about this wonderful lady. God loves us all. She was a good listener and very understanding she would never criticize she was just there to listen and so you. And she wasn’t bad at all like giving some good advice.

  12. She was a lovely good-hearted lady that always had her door open to anyone in need. She was very caring and sympathetic. She was a good listener if you had a trouble she would listen when caring and understanding words. This lady was awesome and raised a beautiful loving family. They should be very proud of her I didn’t see her much but I always thought of her. The suffering is now gone she’s at peace and will be with Jesus One Day in heaven this could God loves us all. ❤️🌹🌹🌹

  13. I have great memories of my cousin Carmella “Dutchie” we grew up together and had so much fun in the summer at the beach. I know she will be missed. She was a caring and loving lady!

  14. I met Del because of my friendship with Robin. We had many lunch dates! Del was a great lady. I am grateful to have known her.
