Helen (Kosciow) Hubbard, 92, of Cul De Sac Way, Riverside, died peacefully at home on October 18, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late George A. Hubbard.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Florence (Puhacz) Kosciow, she lived in Riverside since 1965.

Mrs. Hubbard was an Accounting Secretary for the Diabetes & Endocrinology office for 24 years before retiring in the year 2000.

Helen was a communicant of St. Brendan Church where she was past President of the parish’s Forever Young Club. She was active in the Girl Scouts in the 1970’s. She was a life member of the RI Congress of Parents & Teachers, a former member of the East Bay RSVP and St. Luke’s Young at Heart Club.

Mrs. Hubbard was past President of the St. Catherine of Sienna, former Rosary and Altar Society and Apponaug, the Alice M. Waddington PTA, the Riverside Circle of the Daughters of Isabella, member of the St. Benedict’s Circle, the AARP Chapter # 1302 and member of the AARP, where she was honored with the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2018.

She is survived by her children, Mark W. Hubbard and his wife Betsy of Riverside, Jeffrey A. Hubbard and his wife Linda of Merrimack, NH, Barbara J. Brennan and the late Michael Brennan of Riverside, Dale F. Maiella and her husband Richard of Wylie, TX, Brenda L. Soito and her husband Lee of Rehoboth, MA, Diane M. Gouveia and her husband Michael of Scituate; twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Olga Piazza, Pauline Fuini, Steven Kostiv and Paul Kosciow.

With gratitude to her entire caregiving team, including Barbara and Pauline, Hopehealth Hospice, and Concord Healthcare whose compassionate care and companionship brought her such peace and comfort.

Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday October 29, 2024 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Calling hours are Monday October 28, 2024 from 4-7 p.m. Contributions in Helen’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 would be deeply appreciated.

  1. She was always a pleasure to work with at Diabetes and Endocrinology Associates. Many years prior, she was my uncle’s prom date and brought in the picture to show me….such a kind woman….she will be missed.
