Patricia A. Scienzo, 80, of Viola Ave, Riverside, died peacefully on October 26, 2024 at the Hope Health Hospice Center, Providence surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Philip J. Bernier.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Edward and Catherine (Santamaria) Tavares, she lived in Riverside for many years.
Ms. Scienzo was an Administrative Assistant for the E.H. Ashley Co., East Providence for over 30 years before retiring in 2009.
Patricia was a member of the East Providence Elks Club and the German American Club, Warren. She also was the Vice President of the East Providence F.O.P.A. She enjoyed traveling on cruises.
Besides her husband of 26 years, she is survived by a daughter, Wendy Scienzo and her companion Richard Alessandrini of Riverside; a son, Scott Scienzo and his wife Carlene of Riverside; a sister, Jo Ann Whalen of Swansea, MA; a brother, Edward Tavares and his wife Helen of Warwick; a step-son, Keith Bernier of Cranston; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Lori Scienzo Rebello and the late Diane Scienzo Laughlin.
A Celebration of her Life will be held on Sunday November 10, 2024 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 2 p.m.
Calling hours are Sunday 12 noon to 2 p.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Patricia’s memory to the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Foundation, 249 Roosevelt Ave STE 201, Pawtucket, RI 02860 would be deeply appreciated.

To Phil and family, my deepest sympathy to all. I have great memories of Trish , she always looked like she was going somewhere fancy whenever I saw her She was always dressed to the hilt! When I told her I couldn’t wait to retire, she told me not to rush it, take your time she said.
