Alice W. Roy

Date of Passing:

April 16, 2025

Alice W. “Allie” Roy, 82, of Barrington, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Donald F. Roy for 60 years.

Born in Attleboro, MA, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Grace (Wilmore) Dingley. Allie had made Barrington her home since 1977.

A gifted artist, Allie’s paintings were a carnival of color—floral scenes embraced by warm, comforting patterns that reflected the joy and beauty she saw in the world. Her creative spirit touched everyone who knew her.

Allie was an active and cherished member of the Barrington Garden Club, the Providence Art Club, and the Rhode Island Watercolor Society.

In addition to her devoted husband, she is survived by two sons: H. Christopher Roy of Warren, and Kyle D. Roy and his wife Kate of Barrington; two grandsons, Camron and Joshua Roy of Barrington; her brother, Ted Dingley of Raleigh, NC, as well as several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind a cherished circle of longtime and neighborhood friends who brought joy, laughter, and comfort throughout the years.

There will be a Celebration of Life in honor of Allie on Sunday, April 27, from 12 to 3 p.m. at the home of John Garabedian. Friends and family are welcome. For address and details, please contact [email protected]

In lieu of flowers contributions in Allie’s memory to HopeHealth Hospice & Palliative Care 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904 would be deeply appreciated.
