Alfred J. Kwolek

Kwolek, Alfred, J., ‘Fred,’ 84, of Sowams Road, died peacefully on January 26, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Fannie A. (DeAngelis) Kwolek.
Born in Barrington, a son of the late Albert and Mary (Chlastawa) Kwolek, he was a lifelong resident of Barrington.
Mr. Kwolek was a head custodian for the Barrington School Department for 20 years before retiring in 1978.
Alfred was a communicant of Holy Angel Church. A sports enthusiast, he was a life member and daily swimmer of the Barrington YMCA. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving in the South Pacific during World War II.
Besides his wife of 60 years, he is survived by two sons; Alfred J. Kwolek Jr. and his wife Mary Anne of North Kingstown and Ronald A. Kwolek and his wife Kathy of Barrington, seven grandchildren; Mark, Jason, Jeff, Adam, Matt, Amy and Lisa and one great granddaughter; Angelina. He was the brother of the late Delphine Garabedian, Stella Carreiro and Peter Kwolek.
His funeral will be held on Saturday January 30, 2010 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 9:15 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angel Church, Maple Avenue, Barrington at 10:30 am. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Santa Maria del Campo Cemetery, Upland Way, Barrington.
