Anthony F. Caito, 81, of Whipple Ave, Barrington, died peacefully on December 12, 2024 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Eileen P. (Enos) Caito.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Francesco and Liberata (Gaglia) Caito, he was a lifelong resident of Barrington.

Mr. Caito was a Groundskeeper at the Swansea Country Club for 10 years before retiring in 2022.

Anthony was a graduate of Barrington High School Class of 1961. He was a United States Air Force Veteran serving during the Vietnam era. He earned an Associates degree from Bryant College.

A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed golfing and was a former Club Champion at Swansea Country Club, Cranston Country Club and Sun Valley Country Club. He was a devoted New England sports fan.

Anthony was member of the Barrington Hall of Fame as a football player.

Besides his wife of 29 years, he is survived by two sons, Todd C. Caito and his wife Stacey of Alpharetta, GA and Scott M. Caito of Kentfield, CA; five grandchildren, Kimberly, Madison, Andrew, Jack and Elena; a brother, Joseph C. Caito of Barrington and step-son, Christopher P. Ventura of Hopkinton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Holy Angels Church, Maple Avenue, Barrington followed by a Burial with Military Honors in the Rhode Island Veteranโ€™s Memorial Cemetery, Exeter on a date and time to be announced. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted.

    when he worked for Autocrat
    Coffee in Lincoln R.I.
    I also had the pleasure of playing golf with him in the mixed doubles league on Fridays at the Swansea C.C.
    He was always willing to help you with your golf game.
    A person you always felt comfortable with!
    Rest in peace Tony.

  19. Eileen, I’m lost for words on the loss of Tony. A great golfing partner for the last 25 years, but most of all a wonderful and kind friend. Tony was a tremendous competitor with a fantastic sportsmanship attitude. To me Tony is the “Payne Stewart” of Swansea CC.

Eileen so very sorry to hear the news about Tony – he was and will always be thought of as someone we looked forward to seeing on Monday nights, he was the Bocce official score keeper on both courts – with his words Iโ€™m hungry letโ€™s go being something that always cracked me up. I was fortunate enough to play golf with him too definitely will miss him out there ๐Ÿ˜”
