Burns, Barbara J. (Nelson), 71, of Sherbrook Road, died peacefully on March 31, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Richard J. Burns Jr.
Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Henry and Marie (Thorn) Nelson, she lived in Barrington for 46 years. Mrs. Burns was a clerk for the former Almacs Grocery Store for 25 years until its closing.
Barbara was a devoted Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.
She is survived by her daughter, Kendra Convery and her husband Robert of Pleasanton, CA; two sisters, Virginia Nelson of Smithfield and Joan Salisbury of Smithfield, a grandson, Sam Convery of Pleasanton CA and two nephews, Robert Salisbury of Smithfield and William Salisbury of North Providence.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday April 7, 2018 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 9 a.m. with a Committal Service in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel, Wampanoag Trail, East Providence at 10 a.m. Calling hours are Friday 4-7 p.m.
