Born in Chemung, NY, a daughter of the late Harold L. and Helen Mae (Ketcham) Lovell, she lived most of her life in in Horseheads, NY before moving to Riverside, RI to be near to her family.

Mrs. Winter worked at many places in many different roles throughout her life, but she was most proud of being a Mom and Grandmother to her family. She loved to sing and sang bass as a member of the Crystal Chords Barbershop Chorus where she traveled with the chorus to participate in many international competitions.

She lived her life by the phrase, “If it is to be, it’s up to me.” She loved to joke and have fun laughing with everyone and always said, “I’ve never met a stranger.”

She is survived by a daughter, Kimberly W. Gilmore and her husband Matthew E. Gilmore of Barrington and two grandchildren, Aaron C. Gilmore and his fiancée Carina M. DiChello of Middletown, RI and Allison P. Gilmore and her fiancé Joseph Varanelli of Westerly, RI.

A private family memorial service and burial will be held in Horseheads, NY, at a later date.
