Lovett, Charles J., 86, of Timberland Drive, Riverside, died peacefully on January 3, 2010. He was the husband of the late Marion (Pellitier) Lovett.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Francis and Elizabeth (Allen) Lovett, he lived in Riverside for 55 years.

Mr. Lovett was a steam fitter for Hart Engineering for 40 years, before retiring in 1989.

Charles was a communicant of St. Brendan Church. He was a member of Local #51 for over 60 years.

Mr. Lovett was a graduate of LaSalle Academy Class of 1941 where he was an All-State baseball player. He enjoyed gardening.

Charles was a United States Navy Veteran serving during WWII.

He is survived by five daughters; Barbara A. Daniels of Chesapeake, VA, Margaret E. Dorosko of Riverside, Ann F. Charette of Riverside, Mary E. McShane of Riverside and Linda L. Giangrande of Tolland, CT, a brother; George Lovett of Narragansett, a sister; Elizabeth Petraca of Columbus, OH, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

His funeral will be held on Thursday January 7, 2010 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday 5-7 p.m.
