Edge, Christine, C., 91, formerly of Becker Avenue, Riverside, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 23, 2011 at the Bethany Home, Providence. She was the wife of the late George A. Edge.
Born in Nova Scotia, Canada, a daughter of the late Roderick and Annie (MacRae) MacLean she lived in Riverside for 50 years and Barrington for 2 years.
Mrs. Edge worked for the State School Lunch program at the Mary Fogarty School where she was a cook manager for 15 years before retiring in 1982.
Christine attended the Barrington Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed working with children, reading, knitting and growing flowers.
She is survived by two sons; George W. Edge of Providence and Keith S. Edge of Narragansett, her loving caregiver granddaughter; Heather Edge Picerne of Providence, five grandchildren , five great grandchildren, two sisters; Marguerite Allen of East Greenwich and Shirley Blois of Canada and a brother; Roy MacLean of NH. She was the mother of the late Roderick Edge and sister of the late William, Don, Archie and George MacLean.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Barrington Presbyterian Church, County Road, Barrington in the spring of 2012. Her ashes will be scattered in Englishtown, Nova Scotia, Canada, alongside her late husband George Archambault Edge. Arrangements are under the direction of the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, Riverside.
