Domenic A. Gilberto

Gilberto, Domenic, A., 92, formerly of Centennial Avenue, died peacefully on July 21, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Domenica F. (Salvo) Gilberto.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Salvatore and Madeline (Stanzione) Celeberto, he lived in Barrington for 25 years.
Mr. Gilberto worked at the former Imperial Knife Co. for 40 years retiring as the Director of Personnel.
Domenic was a communicant of Holy Angels Church. He was a student advisor for Junior Achievement and taught and worked with needle pointing. He enjoyed swimming and golfing.
Mr. Gilberto was a United States Army Veteran serving during World War II. He was the proprietor of the Moon Tide Inn.
Besides his wife of 67 years, he is survived by three daughters; Madelyn A. Lavin and her husband Robert of Barrington, Annabelle ‘Tootsie’ Zinni of Barrington and Antonia ‘Toni’ McGuire and her husband Michael B. of Westborough, MA and Bristol, RI, brothers and sisters; Assunta Silva, Joseph Celeberto and Salvatore Celeberto, all of Narragansett, Lucretia Ciolli of Providence, Mary Johns of Vero Beach, FL, Anna Fiske of Providence and Barbara Botelho of Seekonk, MA seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Michael, Anthony, Vincent and Ignatius Celeberto and father-in-law of the late Nicholas W. Zinni.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Church, Maple Avenue, Barrington on Wednesday July 25, 2012 at 10 am. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Calling hours are Tuesday July 24, 2012 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside from 4-7 pm. Flowers are respectfully omitted.
