Dorothy M. (Arbolino) McDonald, 88, formerly of Riverside, died on February 5, 2025 at Dawn Hill Nursing Home, Bristol, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Bernard F. McDonald.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Alfred and Phyllis (Barletta) Arbolino, she lived in Riverside for 35 years, previously residing in Warren for 15 years.

Mrs. McDonald was a communicant of St. Brendan Church, Riverside.

Dorothy enjoyed golfing until the age of 80 and cooking for her family.

She is survived by two sons, Kevin M. McDonald and his wife Susan of Seekonk, Kenneth M. McDonald of Glocester; a daughter, Kathleen M. Carpano and her husband Frank of Lincoln; five grandchildren, Sarah, Francesca, Isabella, Morgan and Michaela; three sisters, Margie Mancini, Marie Sghelli and Deborah Apostolico.

Her Funeral will be held on Monday February 10, 2025 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at11 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.

Calling hours are Monday morning from 9-10 a.m.

    All good memories of Dottie from Central HS 70 years ago as a Cheerleader and friend including dinners and lunch with the (YA YA”s ) a group of friend’s from High School. that would meet often!

    I’m so very sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. She was a great lady and a fun neighbor. I have so many fond memories of her and your Dad and how nice they were to Laura growing up.     You were always the friend who walked in the door smiling n when my mom was sad you were a ray of sunshine. Always so positive and always so kind to me whenever I saw you, from a child and even when I was a grandmother.
    Margie, I am so sorry n I hope you will call me or write when you feel better. Lots of love to you and the whole family. Such a good soul and my mom loved her and will be happy to hold her in her arms n laugh together again somewhere over the rainbow🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈

  12. Josh and I were saddened to hear the news of Dottie’s passing. She was a sweet person, always with a ready smile. I have fond memories of family get together at Papa and Grandma McDonalds house, with my parents and brothers, and Dottie and Bernie, and their kids.
