Ferreira, Emma, L., 51, of Maple Avenue, died peacefully on September 30, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Thomas J. Ferreira.

A lifelong resident of Barrington, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Alice M. (Day) Lama.

Mrs. Ferreira was a teacher’s aid for the Barrington School Department at the Nayatt Elementary School for 10 years and the Sowams Elementary School for 5 years. She enjoyed spending time with her students.

Emma was a communicant of Holy Angels Church. A sports enthusiast, she was a devoted Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed camping.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a son; Thomas J. Ferreira Jr. of Barrington, a daughter; Samantha A. Ferreira of Barrington, two sisters; Janice M. Peterson and Cynthia L. Lama, both of Barrington and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday October 4, 2012 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Angels Church, Maple Avenue, Barrington at 10 am. Burial will follow in Santa Maria del Campo Cemetery.
