Irene Couturiere Mercure, 96, of “Tockwotton on The Waterfront” East Providence, died peacefully on November 17, 2024 at the Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. She was the wife of the late Richard D. Mercure.

Born in Pawtucket, a daughter of the late Leon and Rose (LaPlante) Couturiere, she lived in East Providence for over 30 years.

Mrs. Mercure was a bookkeeper for the Stanley Engineering Co. for many years.

She is survived by a daughter, Diane Isabella of Greenwood Village, CO and seven grandchildren, Christopher Harrison, Scott Harrison, Danielle Mercure, Kathryn Harrison, Kevin Mercure, Michelle Mercure and Ryan Mercure and twelve great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Richard Dennis Mercure.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held followed by Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery on a date and time to be announced.
