Barrington with a photo and a flagFlaherty, Joseph, M., 76, of Barrington, passed away peacefully on Friday September 24, 2010 surrounded by his loving family at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Paula (Saxer) Flaherty.

Born in Attleboro, MA, he was a son of the late Frank and Beatrice (McGrath) Flaherty.

Mr. Flaherty was a business executive in the jewelry industry for over 45 years. He was a member of the Providence Jewelry Club, Elks Club and the Bishop Hickey Knights of Columbus.

Joseph served during the Korean War in the Army Reserve, Military Police Division.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children; Dennis M. Flaherty of Providence, Cheryl Rossi of Cranston, Kathy Rocha of Cranston, Linda Gregory of Manchester, CT and Donna Brady of Barrington and his eight loving grandchildren. He was the father of the late Stephen Flaherty and brother of the late Francis Flaherty.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday September 28, 2010 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 am with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Luke Church, Washington Road, Barrington at 10 am. Burial will follow in Forest Chapel Cemetery, Nayatt Road, Barrington. Calling hours are Monday 4-7 pm.
