Parella, Mary E. (Peckham), 89, of Tockwotton Nursing Home, Waterfront Drive, East Providence, died peacefully on October 15, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Frank J. Parella Jr.

Born in Fall River, MA, a daughter of the late Nina Peckham, she lived in East Providence for 50 years previously residing in Bristol.

Mrs. Parella was a secretary at Roger Williams University for 18 years before retiring in 1985.

Besides her husband of 59 years, she is survived by her children, Frank J. Parella III and his wife Arlene of East Providence, Christopher J. Parella (Retired Chief EPPD) and his wife Nancy of East Providence, Timothy M. Parella and his wife Victoria of Tiverton and Mary Ellen Parella Jessop of East Providence and six grandchildren, Caitlin, Meghan, Victoria, Frank IV, Matthew and Abigail.

A private family service is planned. Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Mary’s memory to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 would be deeply appreciated.

  1. Sincerest condolences on Mary’s passing. She was a very lovely person and we remember her fondly and often spoke to her at your home in Bristol and at the furniture store back in the 1970s. Please accept our heartfelt sympathy.
