Sylvester, Mary, 90, of Glen Street, Riverside, died peacefully on June 23, 2017 at Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River, MA. She was the wife of the late James A. Sylvester.

Born in Rehoboth, MA, a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Souza) Valerio, she was a lifelong resident of East Providence.

Mrs. Sylvester was a communicant of St. Brendan Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Diane M. Robideau of East Providence and Karen A. Sylvester of East Providence; a sister, Janet Jaquinto of East Providence and four brothers, John Valerio Jr. of East Providence, Manuel Valerio of East Providence, Anthony Valerio of East Providence and Edward Valerio of South Carolina. She was the sister of the late Irene Silva, Sr. Virginia Valerio SSD, Louise Valerio and William Valerio.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday June 28, 2017 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 7:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday 5-8 p.m.
