Melba R. Edington

Edington, Melba R. (Calcagno), 94, of Main Street, Riverside, died peacefully on October 2, 2021 at the Hope Health Hulitar Hospice Center, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore S. “Ted” Edington.
Born in Warren, a daughter of the late Frank and Melba (Goff) Calcagno, she lived in Riverside for 90 years.
Mrs. Edington was a bookkeeper for the former Shepard’s Department Store, Atlantic Contacting Company and Ted’s Hardware Store.
Melba was a communicant of St. Brendan Church where she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella Riverside Circle. She also was a member of the Red Hat’s Society and the Royal Travelers Society.
She is survived by two sons, David S. Edington and his wife Cathy of Rehoboth, MA and Mark B. Edington of Riverside; two grandsons and two great-grandsons. She was the sister of the late Josephine Vincent and Frank and Alice Calcagno.
Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday October 12, 2021 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brendan Church, Turner Avenue, Riverside at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday 4-6 p.m.
