Cushing, Roy, A., 88, of 6200 Post Rd, passed away peacefully October 19, 2013 at Orchard View Manor, East Providence.

He was born in Plymouth, N.H., on March 2, 1925, the son of the late Oscar R. Cushing and Ethel F. (Thompson) Hunt. Mr. Cushing, a Veteran of World War II was predeceased by the love of his life and wife of 59 years, Carmela D (Lupo). He was also predeceased by brothers and sisters, Geraldine Bell, Roger Cushing, Doris Joyce, Marion Hill, Frederick Cushing and Oscar R. Cushing. He leaves two sons, Gary R Cushing, Brooklyn, NY, and Don Cushing and wife Penny from East Greenwich, two grandchildren, Kelly Cushing from Radcliff, KY and David Cushing and several nieces and nephews.

Roy was a Tool Room Inventory Manager for the former Imperial Knife Co. in Providence for over 40 years retiring in 1989. Roy enjoyed spending time with his family, his friends from McDonald’s, watching his Red Sox and driving in his car with his best friend and dog of 17 years, Katy who passed away last May.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday October 23, 2013 from the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside at 9:45 am with a Committal Service in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel, Wampanoag Trail, Riverside at 11 am. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
