Richards, Thomas J., Jr., 74, of King Philip Drive, Rehoboth, MA died peacefully on Wednesday November 22, 2023 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro, MA. He was the beloved husband of Susan (Taber) Richards.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Thomas J. and Dorothy Richards, he lived in Rehoboth, MA for 30 years previously residing in Coventry from 1976-1993.

Mr. Richards was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island receiving a B.A. in Journalism and Bryant University where he earned his M.B.A.

Thomas worked in structural steel engineering and sales and was a Director of Operations at the Whaling City Iron Co., New Bedford, MA until his retirement.

Thomas participated in Enduro Motorcycle competitions in his twenties. He enjoyed fresh water fishing at his summer home on Lake Sheepscot, ME. He played in Rhode Island Contract Bridge Tournaments and enjoyed European travel, especially the country of Greece.

Besides his wife of 51 years, he is survived by two sisters, Kathleen Gladding and her husband Kent of Cranston and Margaret Guillotte and her husband David of South Kingstown; a nephew, David Gladding and his wife Jen of Norwood, MA; two nieces, Grace Guillotte and her husband Ben of Providence and Dr. Anne Gladding of Milwaukee, WI.

A private burial will be held in Oak Knoll Cemetery, Rehoboth, MA.
