Wayne J. Brelsford, 77, of Circuit Drive, Riverside, died peacefully on October 26, 2024 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. He was the loving husband of Francine M. (Iannucci) Brelsford.

Born in Providence, a son of the late William and Pauline (Chickering) Brelsford, he lived in Riverside for 49 years.

Mr. Brelsford was a Construction Supervisor for the former Providence Gas Co.-National Grid for over 20 years until retiring in 2009.

An avid golfer, he was a member of the Foster Country Club and enjoyed playing in tournaments.

Mr. Brelsford was a United States Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class. Being an ardent history buff, Wayne loved traveling to experience the history from the Terracotta Army in Xian, China to the shores of Normandy to the ruins of Pompei, he enjoyed every minute of his experiences.

Besides his wife of 49 years, he was a wonderful, kind and loving father to Jessica Brelsford of Riverside and the late Nathan W. Brelsford. He was a grandfather to Thomas and Paul Brelsford, Korey and Kevin Medeiros, Joseph and Ethan Villavicencio. He was the brother of William Brelsford and his wife Joyce of Pennsylvania and Patricia Brelsford Robbins of Florida.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday November 9, 2024 in the W. RAYMOND WATSON FUNERAL HOME, 350 Willett Avenue, Riverside from 3-5 p.m. Flowers are respectfully omitted. Contributions in Wayne’s memory to Tunnel to Towers, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306 would be deeply appreciated.

  17. Fran and family, Sincere condolences. I met Wayne when he first came to Providence Gas. We worked together for decades. He was not only a fellow worker, but a dear friend. I enjoyed working, golfing and his friendship and
    comradery. I always considered Wayne as one of the “good guys” in my life. I will miss him always, may he rest in peace in heaven above.

  25. Dear Fran, I’m so sorry you are walking in my Boots. They become very heavy at times, but keep one upright and strong. Your Husband as is written in his BO was a very impressive man. Hard to let a person of that kind go, but you had the best of him and what he gave you. And also lucky was he to have had you. All My Love Judy Brescia
